Bank Holiday Weekend In Berlin

21 May 2016 - No Comments

It was only three weeks ago that a group of friends and I have finally visited Berlin. We actually planned this at the beginning of the year and I can’t believe that we made it happen *wipes away my tears* Thanks to our friend Jing, who organized all activities for each day, we were just too happy to follow our leader.

We arrived around mid morning at Berlin airport on the Saturday and it took us about an hour or so to get to our hostel. You read it right, we stayed at a hostel for 3 nights – the best and most awesome I’ve ever been to. Not that I’ve been to one since primary school, but it was definitely better than many ‘hotels’ in London. There were 7 of us and this was the best and convenient option. We were pretty central and the city was in walk distance.  It was quite an international meet up as one of our friend from Paris, my cousin who lives 5 hours away and us from the UK, all came together! We had so much fun and the greatest time ever!

Berlin is a great city and I’m sure to visit again in future. There were lots of things to see but there’s never enough time to see and do everything. We went to the zoo and had guided tours. Even went to Monkey Bar in Bikini Berlin hotel, took part in a pub crawl and ended up in a club called Matrix. Met a few nice people on the way too. The weather around 18-20 °C, just a little chilly in the evening for the girls but otherwise sunny and lovely.

As I’ve mentioned in one of my blog posts before; though I’ve lived in Germany for almost 10 years, I’ve really never been anywhere! It’s never too late. Germany in general has great quality food, especially bakery. I seriously can’t get over their cakes though I sadly couldn’t find my favorite clementine cheesecake. If you don’t know it yet – I DON’T LIKE CHOCOLATE & SWEETS, but I like German stuff, because everything is just nicer!

So enough talk, here are a few pictures from our bank holiday weekend. Enjoy!
